Abbey Road: The Beatles Come Together
Miles, Oz, November 1969
ON INITIAL hearing I thought that the isolated life led by The Beatles had at last begun to show in their work: that they lacked new experience and stimulus and consequently had few new musical or lyrical ideas. Paul at home with Linda and Mary watching the box; John and Yoko watching Top Of The Pops on telly in the back of their white Rolls with black glass as it cruises down Saville Row on its way to Ascot; Ringo the happy family man and George strangely upset by his bust, uncertain about his friends but singing Hare Krishna.
